How to Party With Curfews Imposed
Yes, I know that the curfew has been getting away of us having fun here in Bangkok for the last few weeks. But last night, my friends and I got creative and decided to start the party early. Like starting at 7PM EARLY. And it worked, well at least for me anyways.
So here is Miss James's Guide to a Cinderella Nightout:
1. Have an early dinner at a place near your house or where you work.
Its very important that you start your night with food. We ate at MOKO on Sathorn 10. The place that every freakin magazine and blogs have been raving on about for the past month. I must say that the ambience and decor was super chill and all (I mean they imported Filipinos to be servers, nobody there spoke thai. it was super inter). But their food was pretty shit for the price they charged.
Here is an example of my 300bht MALIBU SALAD:

I ain't no culinary expert but that was CANNED CORN.
My friend had the bow-tie shaped pasta thingy (pardon my lack of experience with my italian side) with smoked salmon which it tasted like the ocean. Anyways so yes I would recommend you going there if u wanna up your status and look hiso. But not so much for if you wanna go for food.
2. Deals Deals Deals
Who knew bars had deals on Fridays. But hey, apparently woobar at W hotel does. Free flow of sparkling wine from 7pm ladies! Cheers. (i hope they don't go out of business by me announcing this to the whole world) There were like 7 of us, we sat and they just poured and poured.
We figured out that they were serving Mont Claire sparkling wine which retails at about 300 baht a bottle. But who cares? free booze!
They had THE BEST fries dip in the whole wide universe too i swear (sorry hob lovers) but the truffle dip is amazeballs. It really is worth the 250 bht.
Bay Anchasa (its not her real name) and I having a superfluous selfie. Some random chinese guy decided to photobomb us because we were so awesome.
3. Go to a nonmainstream rooftop bar.
Forget Sirocco. Cloud47 is one of my favorite places to be. I don't remember much of what happened at this venue last night but i thought i had a pretty awesome time. If you're into indie-mainstream (notice the oxymoron?) like arctic monkeys or foster the people, then this is the place for you. I love the band there so much they must think i'm weird. If there were such things like a groupie here in thailand, I would be their first one.
The drinks were soso. But who cares when you're already hammered by all that free wine.
Would you look at that view? Bangkok's pollution situation isn't all that bad compared other cities yo.
They closed down the place at around 11. We got home safely by midnight. I would say that the curfew doesnt have much of an affect if you know how to have a good time.
That concludes my post for today. Until next time internet! :)
